Top Dog -Friendly Photo Spots in Enterprise, Ozark, Dothan and Daleville, AL
One of the most common questions I get is, "Where should we do our session?" and it truthfully just depends on your dog's personality! I have a few
spots that I love because they're dog friendly, gorgeous and usually not very crowded. So whether your pup is anti-social, (like one of mine, LOL), high energy or reactive and needs lots of space, there's definitely a location that will be just right!
Here's some of my go-to locations and why they work for different types of dogs:
Ed Lisenby Lake-Ozark, AL
Quiet, Scenic and Great for Shy Dogs
Hands down, Ed Lisenby Lake in Ozark, AL is my favorite place to photograph at! It has a little bit of everything, with trails through the woods, quiet spots by the water, and plenty of open space for curious dogs to explore! Photo above is one of my faves from there!
Why it's great for reactive or anxious dogs:
It's not over-crowded and there's plenty of room to roam, so we can find a quieter area if needed. When your baby is comfortable and relaxed, the more candid, relaxed photos will happen naturally.
Dothan Area Botanical Gardens-Dothan, AL
Colorful, Scenic Beautiful Pathways
If your pup is a little more refined, (no breeds shall be named here, LOL), and you both love walking along shaded garden paths with something new to see around every corner, the Botanical Gardens is a perfect choice! Although we don't have quite a complete change of seasons here in southern Alabama, it offers lots of texture and color to create some pretty dreamy portraits.
Best for confident, social dogs:
This location does tend to be a bit busier on weekends and certain times of the year, but if your dog is perfectly happy on a leash, that I can magically remove in Photo Shop, then this would be a great choice!
Downtown Enterprise, AL
Urban & Fun Vibe
If your pup has a big personality and you're hoping for a ton of options, including some cool murals, historic buildings and gorgeous homes of Enterprise then let's head downtown! Of course, Enterprise isn't our only nearby choice, as Dothan, Ozark or Elba, AL would be just as interesting!
For pooches who love a little excitement:
Downtown is best for dogs who are well-socialized and comfortable in a busy environment. It's not the greatest, nor would I recommend, for sensitive or anxious dogs, but a super fun option for your confident canine!
My Private Studio and Property-Just Outside Enterprise
Completely Customized, Quiet and Surrounded By Nature
This is the one I truly love most-I just walk out my back door and it's all there! Eighty acres of fields and woods, out in the country, quiet, and, includes my indoor studio for some classic portraits. We can throw in some fun props too for additional variety!
Perfect for reactive, shy or senior dogs:
Because it's private, there are no distractions, no crowds and no pressure. It's helpful for dogs with special needs and older dogs to be able to go at their own pace and explore, which allows me to get some relaxed and casual images you'll love!
